Hot Fishing News

Neill Sperath went to Pakiri Beach last Saturday and caught two snapper and two gurnard.

He also fished Wenderholm yesterday in difficult conditions and caught three nice sized snapper from a couple of sets around midday.

Unfortunately the wind was so strong it broke the 10mm wing spar on the flexiwing in mid-air about 800metres offshore.

Luckily all was good because Neill had a float on the kite and pulled it in otherwise undamaged.

Whatipu Fishing Map

Whatipu is situated on the North head of the Manukau Harbour and presents many fantastic kite fishing opportunities in a variety of wind directions.

The beach on the western side of the Ninepin Rock is the easiest and most productive place to fish with a kite rig at Whatipu. The north channel cuts in close to the beach here and the bottom is mostly clear of snags. Whatipu Map

Whatipu Fishing Report

On a beautiful Thursday morning, the wind was forecast to be a 15 knot Easterly - perfect conditions for kite fishing on the West Coast.

A few clients had been wanting to go kite fishing on the West Coast so I called them and all agreed to a 5am start the following morning.
