These beaches are busy in summer with swimmers, water-skiers, boats, windsurfers and canoes prevalent.
These shallow beaches are more suited to the smaller dropper rigs such as the Flexiwing and Pocket Sled Dropper Rigs.
These beaches are not suitable for Bottom Longline Rigs and are best fished with floating baits or ledger rigs with sacrificial weights.
Fishing close to the reefs can be done by experienced fishers using Dropper Rigs and ledger rigs. This type of fishing results in more fish and bigger fish being caught during winter.
Snapper can be caught all year round. An excellent snapper fishing hotspot with big snapper available from March to early December. Schools of kahawai are common off the beach.
At the height of summer there are more smaller snapper caught. Winter fishing can be excellent and the beaches are generally quieter than in summer.
Night fishing can be productive with less activity on the beach and bigger fish present. Stingrays can be a nuisance at times during the year.
